For our printed books, we use the Print-On-Demand model, which prints books as they are ordered, rather than the traditional model of a large print run at one time. We use the large printer that supplies Ingram books, Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and many other online stores. Because we only offer a 20% discount to wholesalers (and thus maximize profits for our authors), most bookstores will not carry our books, as they usually need a 40-55% discount. However, the trend is moving away from local bookstores and to online stores.
We also format our books as e-books, for reading on Kindle, Nook, and other e-readers. Our books are available on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and this website.
Our job is to make sure your book looks its best, and then get it out there for sale. Your job is to market it, through social networking and other inexpensive means.
